Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Georgia State's Shelton Brower started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match Bret Kilgore sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Quinton Sewell skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Alden booed when Georgia State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Parker Baron didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Shelton Brower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Abe Bellamy fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 0-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Shelton Brower elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Quinton Sewell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shelton Brower's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saul Bean during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Georgia State's Giovanni Doe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abe Bellamy in the 28th minute of play. Saul Bean was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 35 minutes into the match, Georgia State's goalkeeper Giovanni Doe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quentin Belanger. Roosevelt Riggs might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quinton Sewell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roosevelt Riggs ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roosevelt Riggs in the 37th minute of play forced Alden's goalkeeper Quinton Sewell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roosevelt Riggs in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quinton Sewell saved Alden from getting behind. Bret Kilgore hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, Alden's Abe Bellamy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giovanni Doe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Georgia State were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abe Bellamy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Parker Baron might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quinton Sewell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Parker Baron ran back to his position shaking his head. Del Carrington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Giovanni Doe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roosevelt Riggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quinton Sewell having to interfere. Georgia State's Giovanni Doe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abe Bellamy in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the Georgia State defense, Abe Bellamy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Doe. The Georgia State fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Doe should have stopped the shot. When Shelton Brower fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Georgia State's protests and gave Shelton Brower a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd match minute, Georgia State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shelton Brower to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Alden booed when Georgia State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Parker Baron didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Alden's Troy Smiley tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marshall Irving lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Horne during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Alden getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Edgar Horne hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 陆星镇 in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quinton Sewell saved Alden from getting behind. After 92 played minutes Alden got a freekick which was hit by Kurtis Ellis. Abe Bellamy's late challenge caught a Georgia State's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abe Bellamy helped the player get up and apologised. Abe Bellamy hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the match was over Georgia State could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Alden throughout the match.
