An unexpectedly hard shot by Marshall Stoner in the 5th minute of play forced Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goalkeeper Roy Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Rutherford charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Rutherford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Sawgrass:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Int de Fútbol Miami:s goal. 10 minutes into the match, Charlie Hollandsworth notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sawgrass's Duane Carbajal. Duane Carbajal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 13th match minute, Club Int de Fútbol Miami was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Hill to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Club Int de Fútbol Miami's zone, Marshall Stoner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roy Souza came out of the goal and Marshall Stoner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, Sawgrass's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Franco came free, but Duane Carbajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Hollandsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duane Carbajal having to interfere. The Club Int de Fútbol Miami fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Club Int de Fútbol Miami's Ivan Franco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Charlie Hollandsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duane Carbajal having to interfere. Roy Souza was a little too slow when Marshall Stoner got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-2. Duane Carbajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Franco in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heriberto Alston in the 43rd minute of play forced Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goalkeeper Roy Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Marshall Stoner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heriberto Alston got free with Roy Souza in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marshall Stoner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marshall Stoner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marshall Stoner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Souza having to interfere. Roy Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marshall Stoner, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Heriberto Alston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goal looked a bit too open when Heriberto Alston came free, but Roy Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Int de Fútbol Miami's Roy Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heriberto Alston in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marshall Stoner in the 69th minute of play forced Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goalkeeper Roy Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Int de Fútbol Miami's Charlie Hollandsworth got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duane Carbajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Hollandsworth in the 73rd minute of play. Ivan Franco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Duane Carbajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charlie Hollandsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Marshall Stoner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roy Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Marshall Stoner put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Roy Souza. Roy Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marshall Stoner, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sawgrass had played much better football throughout.
