In the 11th match minute, Alden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Dobbs to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Franco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quinton Sewell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Del Carrington in the 14th minute of play forced Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goalkeeper Roy Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charlie Hollandsworth might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quinton Sewell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Charlie Hollandsworth ran back to his position shaking his head. Roderick Love kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Troy Smiley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute Del Carrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Int de Fútbol Miami's zone, Quentin Belanger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roy Souza came out of the goal and Quentin Belanger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quinton Sewell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Franco in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Club Int de Fútbol Miami getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vito Hill hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goal looked a bit too open when Troy Smiley came free, but Roy Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Int de Fútbol Miami's Roy Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Dobbs in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Del Carrington in the 41st minute of play forced Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goalkeeper Roy Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quinton Sewell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Franco in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Quentin Belanger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roy Souza. Club Int de Fútbol Miami's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Quentin Belanger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After the first half Alden were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abe Bellamy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Blair Trimble hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quinton Sewell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Franco went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Roy Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abe Bellamy in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Abe Bellamy made a precise shot to the right of Roy Souza. Club Int de Fútbol Miami's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. In the 63rd minute, Quentin Belanger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Club Int de Fútbol Miami's goal looked a bit too open when Abe Bellamy came free, but Roy Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Del Carringtons short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Roy Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 88th minute of the match, Abe Bellamy tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Roy Souza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Charlie Hollandsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Quinton Sewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quinton Sewell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Hollandsworth in the 93rd minute of the match. Alden's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
