Del Carrington charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Del Carrington the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Del Carrington hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quentin Belanger got free with Richard Santos in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The Seaford Glory fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Santos should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Alden's Troy Smiley got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alden's zone, Bart Devine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quinton Sewell came out of the goal and Bart Devine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Abe Bellamy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alden's supporters rose to their feet, but Abe Bellamy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Seaford Glory getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Kevin Epperson hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Alden's Troy Smiley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Desmond Garland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alden's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
