Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bob Carey took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Josiah Barker in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Todd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ferdinand Vaughn fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newark Athletic Club's protests and gave Ferdinand Vaughn a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Newark Athletic Club getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ferdinand Vaughn hit a great ball. Hugo Todd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lyle Bonds, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mitch Ott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Carey in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Lucien Moss left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newark Athletic Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Bob Carey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitch Ott having to interfere. With a little luck, Boca Juniors LA's Mitch Ott got control of the ball when Ian Cook tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Josiah Barker came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Boca Juniors LA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josiah Barker couldn't finish the play. Newark Athletic Club's Hugo Todd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blair Flynn in the 39th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Blair Flynn was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Newark Athletic Club's Hugo Todd got control of the ball when Lyle Bonds tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ian Cook's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors LA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Cook helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Newark Athletic Club's Ian Cook got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 57th match minute, Boca Juniors LA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerome Kaufman to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Todd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Beal, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th match minute, Newark Athletic Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Cook to maneuver through the defense. Joe Beal charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joe Beal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors LA's Joe Beal got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 73 minutes of play, Newark Athletic Club's Bob Carey made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mitch Ott was left in no man's land by his defense there! Josiah Barker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mitch Ott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Blair Flynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 played minutes Boca Juniors LA got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Aquino. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lyle Bonds in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo Todd saved Newark Athletic Club from getting behind. Boca Juniors LA's Mitch Ott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Carey in the 90th minute of play. Mitch Ott stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucien Moss's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Newark Athletic Club's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
