Wayne Hills Patriots's Hans Spencer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Wayne Hills Patriots from getting a goal against them. If Lyle Bonds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blair Flynn had several of the Wayne Hills Patriots's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 18 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Hans Spencer as he didn't even see the shot coming. Mitch Ott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Alvarado, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Blair Flynn struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Hans Spencer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors LA. Hans Spencer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blair Flynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, one of Wayne Hills Patriots:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Boca Juniors LA. Lyle Bonds stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hans Spencer. 2-1. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Juniors LA's goalkeeper Mitch Ott, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Taylor McMahon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitch Ott having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Mario Alvarado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Mitch Ott was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd minute, Mario Alvarado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Blair Flynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Cruz Russo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mitch Ott quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Blair Flynn took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hans Spencer. Hans Spencer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Mario Alvarado hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Marlon Dickens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dillon Davies fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wayne Hills Patriots's protests and gave Dillon Davies a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wayne Hills Patriots getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Dillon Davies hit a great ball. Josiah Barker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Hans Spencer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hans Spencer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blair Flynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 78 played minutes Wayne Hills Patriots got a freekick which was hit by Weldon Benton. Mario Alvarado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Mitch Ott made a huge save. In the 87th minute, Taylor McMahon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Mario Alvarado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mitch Ott was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3.
