Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mario Alvarado started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Taylor McMahon during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 5 played minutes Wayne Hills Patriots got a freekick which was hit by Taylor McMahon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enoch Holliday got free with Hans Spencer in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th minute of the match Cortland got a corner. Wayne Hills Patriots's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ken Wray ran over to the corner to take the kick. 10 minutes into the match, Wayne Hills Patriots's goalkeeper Hans Spencer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enoch Holliday. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Alvarado in the 11th minute of play forced Cortland's goalkeeper Greg Landis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enoch Holliday in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hans Spencer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Greg Landis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Alvarado went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 21 minutes into the game, Ken Wray was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cortland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wayne Hills Patriots the free kick. In the 21st minute, Ken Wray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 minutes of play, Wayne Hills Patriots's Mario Alvarado made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Greg Landis was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the game, Enoch Holliday lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Hans Spencer. When Taylor McMahon came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Wayne Hills Patriots fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taylor McMahon couldn't finish the play. Mario Alvarado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ken Wray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enoch Holliday to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Enoch Holliday's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Spencer was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Mario Alvarado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Lucas Kaplan from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Greg Landis's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cortland's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mario Alvarado in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Greg Landis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Wayne Hills Patriots getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Shayne Yu hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, Mario Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Greg Landis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Alvarado in the 76th minute of the match. Wayne Hills Patriots's Lucas Kaplan shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Greg Landis but with some difficulty. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Enoch Holliday put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Hans Spencer. 88 minutes into the match, Mario Alvarado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Greg Landis, 3-3. The supporters of Wayne Hills Patriots booed when Cortland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Merrill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Alvarado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Greg Landis made a huge save. Despite being the better team, Cortland failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
