After a rather tough play, Chick-fil-a's Timmy Nixon got a free kick in the 16th minute. Ross Lott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sean Lamb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Charlton McDonough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sean Lamb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sean Lamb to make the kick off. Chick-fil-a's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Sean Lamb scored to the left of an out of position Charlton McDonough, making the score, 1-1. When Don Pruett fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chick-fil-a's protests and gave Don Pruett a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Chick-fil-a got a freekick which was hit by Don Pruett. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Lamb in the 73rd minute of play forced Chick-fil-a's goalkeeper Charlton McDonough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Ross Lott had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charlton McDonough. Chick-fil-a's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ross Lott was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When Lee Salazar fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arcola Youth Academy's protests and gave Lee Salazar a yellow card for diving instead. Charlton McDonough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Lamb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charlton McDonough stood somewhat misplaced when Sean Lamb came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 95 minute. The Arcola Youth Academy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
