Gustavo Blair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Titus Pickens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ben Huntley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix Suns Atletic's supporters rose to their feet, but Ben Huntley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Titus Pickens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Huntley got free with Titus Pickens in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ben Huntley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Titus Pickens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 24 minutes, Ernesto Bermudez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Bermudez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bill Burger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Bermudez in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Ernesto Bermudez got a free kick in the 29th minute. Gustavo Blair was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalkeeper Bill Burger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Seth Deleon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Atletico Nacional's Morgan French tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ethan Person in the 35th minute of play forced Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalkeeper Bill Burger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Gustavo Blair managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Bill Burger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Judd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernesto Bermudez was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Atletico Nacional booed when Phoenix Suns Atletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leroy Blackburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Ethan Person took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Bill Burger to make any attempt to save it. 63 minutes into the game, Phoenix Suns Atletic's Gustavo Blair nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Titus Pickens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Levi Kent recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Titus Pickens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Gustavo Blair had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Titus Pickens. Atletico Nacional's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Blair was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ernesto Bermudez hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Atletico Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Huntley came free, but Titus Pickens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ernesto Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 played minutes Atletico Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Judd. After 86 minutes, Ben Huntley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Suns Atletic and the Atletico Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ben Huntley hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes Phoenix Suns Atletic got a freekick which was hit by Levi Kent. Phoenix Suns Atletic's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
