The referee ignored Phoenix Suns Atletic's protests and gave Jerrod Burroughs a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Phoenix Suns Atletic got a freekick which was hit by Jerrod Burroughs. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Suns Atletic's Young Hampton got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Lefler in the 26th minute of play forced Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalkeeper Bill Burger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Elias Ernst who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bill Burger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Lefler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Lefler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Ivan Gallo advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 43rd minute. Antonio Lefler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bill Burger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Darryl Mims fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bill Burger having to interfere. When JAYET's Elias Ernst in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalie prevented a goal. After 55 minutes, Leroy Blackburn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Suns Atletic and the JAYET players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leroy Blackburn hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match.
