Atletico Nacional's Titus Pickens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rashad Starks in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Titus Pickens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Freddie Priest. Ernesto Bermudez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 minutes, Ernesto Bermudez made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. shenhua's Wilford Mott tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Morgan French got a free kick in the 15th minute. Titus Pickens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddie Priest in the 16th minute. A collision led to Atletico Nacional getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Ernesto Bermudez hit a great ball. In the 22ndth minute of the game Ernesto Bermudez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but shenhua's Wilford Mott was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Atletico Nacional's Ethan Person nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilford Mott made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. shenhua's Wilford Mott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jared Ennis in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, shenhua's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Bermudez came free, but Wilford Mott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilford Mott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Ethan Person had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the shenhua defense, Ernesto Bermudez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilford Mott. The shenhua fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilford Mott should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Jared Ennis kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Ethan Person had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 71 played minutes shenhua got a freekick which was hit by Neal Berger. Morgan French recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ethan Person sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Wilford Mott made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Ethan Person sent off a good shot on target. Merrill Washington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Titus Pickens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Mason Brandon made a precise shot to the right of Titus Pickens. Atletico Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Titus Pickens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mason Brandon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilford Mott made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Ethan Person sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in shenhua's zone, Ethan Person stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilford Mott came out of the goal and Ethan Person tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atletico Nacional walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
