Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Poplar Tent's Salvador Goins started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Fernando Orozco fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poplar Tent's protests and gave Fernando Orozco a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Poplar Tent got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Orozco. A collision led to Tequesta FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Will Pruitt hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Sergio Christian made a precise shot to the right of Trinidad Phillips. Tequesta FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Tequesta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Russ Dobbins came free, but Trinidad Phillips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Poplar Tent's Sergio Christian in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tequesta FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Sergio Christian tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Trinidad Phillips saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Sergio Christian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tequesta FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Daniel Schulz hit a great ball. Trinidad Phillips made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Goins in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Poplar Tent's goal looked a bit too open when Will Pruitt came free, but Pablo Sweet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes Poplar Tent's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Terry Bowman who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Poplar Tent's goalie and right to Wayne Prather. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Poplar Tent's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Trinidad Phillips made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Christian in the 37th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Tequesta FC got a freekick which was hit by Terry Bowman. In the 41st minute, Jacques Carpenter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 55th minute Salvador Goins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trinidad Phillips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Tequesta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Goins came free, but Trinidad Phillips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 58 minutes, Salvador Goins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poplar Tent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Goins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Salvador Goins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Sergio Christian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Poplar Tent's Pablo Sweet got control of the ball when Terry Bowman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Terry Bowman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the game, Salvador Goins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Trinidad Phillips was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Salvador Goins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trinidad Phillips having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Fernando Orozco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Poplar Tent were the better team. Poplar Tent's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
