Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Oren Gorman got the match started through his kick off. Glen Sadler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Goins in the 3rd minute. Sergio Christian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Kenner's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Christian came free, but Glen Sadler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Thaddeus Kessler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salvador Goins succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 12th playminute. Sergio Christian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Sadler having to interfere. Bradley Trimble kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The corner led Poplar Tent's Salvador Goins to a score. 2-0 in the 31st minute. Glen Sadler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Goins in the 38th minute. Sergio Christian was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Salvador Goins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Glen Sadler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Poplar Tent's Sergio Christian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Glen Sadler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Kenner's goalkeeper Glen Sadler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvador Goins. After 47 played minutes Kenner got a freekick which was hit by Thaddeus Kessler. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salvador Goins to make the kick off. Cristobal Root sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Poplar Tent got a freekick which was hit by Quintin McCoy. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Kenner. Oren Gorman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pablo Sweet. 2-1. Glen Sadler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Goins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fernando Orozco fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poplar Tent's protests and gave Fernando Orozco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Poplar Tent getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Fernando Orozco hit a great ball. Sergio Christian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Sadler having to interfere. Bradley Trimble recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute Sergio Christian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glen Sadler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Russ Dobbins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Poplar Tent were the better team. Poplar Tent's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
