The Vasquitos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Berry Aviles succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 15th playminute. A collision led to Poplar Tent getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Sergio Christian hit a great ball. In the 20th match minute, Poplar Tent was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russ Dobbins to maneuver through the defense. Berry Aviles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Poplar Tent's Sergio Christian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Byron Messer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Poplar Tent's Sergio Christian got a free kick in the 31st minute. With his leg Pablo Sweet managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when The Vasquitos's Berry Aviles fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 35th minute Sergio Christian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Messer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berry Aviles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Pablo Sweet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Salvador Goins fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poplar Tent's protests and gave Salvador Goins a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Poplar Tent got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Goins. Darrel Milton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Berry Aviles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pablo Sweet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. The Vasquitos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Sergio Christian scored to the left of an out of position Byron Messer, making the score, 1-5. Salvador Goins scored 1-6 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Byron Messer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Waylon Harmon kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Darrel Milton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Sweet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Darrel Milton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pablo Sweet. Poplar Tent's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darrel Milton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. The Poplar Tent supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Poplar Tent would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
