Farmington Hills's Lance Pollock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Köksal Erek in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Köksal Erek in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lance Pollock saved Farmington Hills from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in MONTERREY's zone, Seth Bassett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brede Røv came out of the goal and Seth Bassett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, Farmington Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Mitchell Hopson came free, but Lance Pollock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moses Giles during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Moses Giles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Eleuterio Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lance Pollock. Farmington Hills's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eleuterio Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Moses Giles hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Seth Bassett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brede Røv saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brede Røv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seth Bassett, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seth Bassett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Farmington Hills's Lance Pollock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Farmington Hills from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, MONTERREY's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Bassett came free, but Brede Røv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Köksal Erek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lance Pollock was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Seth Bassett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. MONTERREY's Brede Røv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamar Shaw in the 67th minute of play. Colby Shelton kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Köksal Erek got free with Lance Pollock in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lance Pollock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Köksal Erek's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. A collision led to MONTERREY getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ignacy Kornecki hit a great ball. The corner led Farmington Hills's Seth Bassett to fire away a dangerous shot which Brede Røv despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Köksal Erek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Köksal Erek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Lance Pollock made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Köksal Erek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lance Pollock was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 95th minute Seth Bassett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brede Røv saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MONTERREY eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
