Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Chuck Pendleton made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lincoln Herndon in the 4th minute of play forced Fair Haven's goalkeeper Manuel Morse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Fair Haven's goal looked a bit too open when Lincoln Herndon came free, but Manuel Morse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Morse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ned Turner in the 7th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Fair Haven got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Cerna. Menlo's Lincoln Herndon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fair Haven. 14 minutes into the match, Menlo's goal looked a bit too open when Chuck Pendleton came free, but Ali Thomson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Morse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clint Friend, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th match minute, Fair Haven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Gabriel to maneuver through the defense. Lincoln Herndon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manuel Morse. Fair Haven's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ali Thomson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Gabriel in the 19th minute of the match. The referee showed Emmanuel Bolton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ned Turner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Morse having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Jim Banks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Fair Haven's Johnnie Joyce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ali Thomson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Menlo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
