The Anson AFC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Anson AFC's Austin Dickens looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Evan Burks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leon Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Donalsonville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Fernandez couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Donalsonville getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Evan Burks hit a great ball. In the 26th match minute, Anson AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcellus Paris to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leon Fernandez in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thad Avery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Donalsonville booed when Anson AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enoch Norwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Donalsonville getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Zachariah McCarthy hit a great ball. Donalsonville's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Otto Cagle scored to the left of an out of position Evan Mullins, making the score, 3-0. 41 minutes into the match, Donalsonville's goalkeeper Evan Mullins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Austin Dickens. In the 42nd minute, Leon Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Leon Fernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Donalsonville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anson AFC the free kick. Leon Fernandez hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. If Otto Cagle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Austin Dickens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Donalsonville's Evan Mullins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Evan Burks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Donalsonville's zone, Otto Cagle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evan Mullins came out of the goal and Otto Cagle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Otto Cagle made a precise shot to the right of Evan Mullins. Donalsonville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. If Ed Chung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Anson AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Shawn Keene came free, but Thad Avery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evan Mullins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otto Cagle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th match minute, Anson AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcellus Paris to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evan Burks during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anson AFC's Austin Dickens got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Donalsonville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Anson AFC:s goal. The referee gave Anson AFC a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aurelio McNair, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Donalsonville's Evan Mullins. 5-0. In the 98th minute Otto Cagle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evan Mullins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anson AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
