After having played for 10 minutes, 冯永宽 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illinois Bluewaters's supporters crossed their fingers, but 冯永宽 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fred Reagan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Maranhense in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Lewis Whitmore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zachary Herndon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Roger Myles made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mike Casey got free with Roger Myles in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Mike Casey came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Excelsior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mike Casey couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the game, Illinois Bluewaters's 冯永宽 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fred Reagan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Casper Jacobsen struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Roger Myles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Excelsior. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachary Herndon in the 35th minute of play forced Illinois Bluewaters's goalkeeper Roger Myles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 冯永宽 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danilo Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Reagan having to interfere. Fred Reagan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Mike Casey made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Mike Casey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mike Casey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57thth minute of the game 冯永宽 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Excelsior's Fred Reagan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 58th match minute, Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Logan Newsome to maneuver through the defense. Danilo Maranhense was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 64 minutes into the match, 冯永宽 dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fred Reagan, 1-3. Sal Jarrell hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Danilo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute, 冯永宽 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Reagan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Fred Reagan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danilo Maranhense in the 87th minute. Excelsior's Fred Reagan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 冯永宽 in the 92nd minute of play.
