Darrell Curran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Rhodes, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. But to his dismay, Jonas Rhodes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 28th minute Colin Stroh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darrell Curran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bartonville's Wendell Whitfield got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Alonzo Beatty ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darrell Curran was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Stanton Sellers kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Jonas Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darrell Curran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Bartonville booed when South Venice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicky Gilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lazaro Ruth to make the kick off. Hunter Pierre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 69thth minute of the game Lazaro Ruth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but South Venice's Hunter Pierre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. South Venice's Hunter Pierre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wendell Whitfield in the 71st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Darrell Curran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bartonville's Darrell Curran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Stroh in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Stroh in the 92nd minute of play forced Bartonville's goalkeeper Darrell Curran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
