Dudley Blankenship tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dudley Blankenship showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennett Spence in the 31st minute of the match. Dudley Blankenship took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Calderon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sturtevant AFC's Bennett Spence in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Stanton Hurd charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stanton Hurd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Fountain Inn's zone, Bennett Spence stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dudley Blankenship came out of the goal and Bennett Spence tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sturtevant AFC's Tod Smallwood got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tod Smallwood came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Sturtevant AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Smallwood couldn't finish the play. Fountain Inn's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Grant Calderon scored to the left of an out of position Dudley Blankenship, making the score, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keenan Mora in the 94th minute of play forced Sturtevant AFC's goalkeeper Benito Morin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
