Bronson Fitzgerald came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Miami Gators's Milo Winn. But to his dismay, Milo Winn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Bronson Fitzgerald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merrill Justice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill Justice in the 20th minute of play forced Longview Heights's goalkeeper Bronson Fitzgerald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Baggett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Owen Baker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Merrill Justice in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bronson Fitzgerald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santiago Gillespie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Longview Heights's Colby Broussard shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 33rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Owen Baker but with some difficulty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santiago Gillespie in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Owen Baker saved Miami Gators from getting behind. Jack Baggett struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Owen Baker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Longview Heights. 38 minutes into the match, Miami Gators's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Gillespie came free, but Owen Baker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Longview Heights's Bronson Fitzgerald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merrill Justice in the 41st minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Gillespie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Longview Heights's Bronson Fitzgerald proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Longview Heights from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Miami Gators's Merrill Justice got a free kick in the 64th minute. Clayton Vazquez kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill Justice in the 66th minute of play forced Longview Heights's goalkeeper Bronson Fitzgerald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jack Baggett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Longview Heights's Bronson Fitzgerald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merrill Justice in the 80th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jack Baggett during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Longview Heights got a freekick which was hit by Jack Baggett. Wendell Rooney charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wendell Rooney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th match minute, Longview Heights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wendell Rooney to maneuver through the defense. Jack Baggett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Baker having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Milo Winn got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some careless play in the Miami Gators defense, Santiago Gillespie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Owen Baker. The Miami Gators fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Owen Baker should have stopped the shot.
