Henry Tormes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Martínez having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blake Drew in the 4th minute of play forced Savannah Striders's goalkeeper Taci Yekta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Songurbey Yalınalp fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Savannah Striders's protests and gave Songurbey Yalınalp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Songurbey Yalınalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Koenig in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oscar Martínez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 8 minutes, Kerimhan Önen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berwyn and the Savannah Striders players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kerimhan Önen kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antony Hinwood in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Taci Yekta saved Savannah Striders from getting behind. Berwyn's Oscar Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Micah Erwin in the 13th minute of play. In the 16thth minute of the game Joesph Browne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Savannah Striders's Taci Yekta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daron Strong struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Oscar Martínez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savannah Striders. Merrill Koch kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Taci Yekta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerimhan Önen in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Savannah Striders's goal looked a bit too open when Antony Hinwood came free, but Taci Yekta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Martínez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Micah Erwin, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Kerimhan Önen hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Koenig was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Berwyn booed when Savannah Striders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Tormes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Micah Erwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Savannah Striders's Guillermo Koenig in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Micah Erwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Oscar Martínez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Savannah Striders's Daron Strong got a free kick in the 90th minute. When Micah Erwin came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Savannah Striders fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Micah Erwin couldn't finish the play. In the 96thth minute of the game Guillermo Koenig who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Berwyn's Oscar Martínez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Savannah Striders players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
