In the 7th match minute, Novatoo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Gann to maneuver through the defense. Nicholas Wolff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Huber in the 17th minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Novatoo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randell Rivera to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Novatoo's Leonard Gann got a free kick in the 24th minute. Novatoo's Nicholas Wolff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dylan Lott in the 25th minute of play. Randell Rivera struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Tuan Napier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Novatoo. Nicholas Wolff was a little too slow when Dylan Lott got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-0. Tuan Napier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Devin Oliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Huber to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Grant Sullivan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Novatoo and the Effingham players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ross Burch charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Effingham booed when Novatoo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ross Burch didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, James Starnes notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Effingham's Tuan Napier. Tuan Napier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Novatoo booed when Effingham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chad Hare didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Effingham's zone, James Starnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tuan Napier came out of the goal and James Starnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute, Leo Huber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. James Starnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuan Napier having to interfere. Effingham's Leo Huber got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dylan Lott took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicholas Wolff. Nicholas Wolff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.
