Antonio Worley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josiah Freeman having to interfere. Simon Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Hank Hendrix struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Josiah Freeman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Northville Mustangs. Antonio Worley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roscoe Slaughter hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Northville Mustangs booed when Phoenixsun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roscoe Slaughter didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When Antonio Worley in the 51st play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Josiah Freeman kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Hank Hendrix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Phoenixsun's goalkeeper Josiah Freeman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Worley. In the 63rd match minute, Phoenixsun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brent Donovan to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Northville Mustangs booed when Phoenixsun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brent Donovan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Northville Mustangs's Vicente Hackett tried to score from far away in the 66th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ryan Lawler charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ryan Lawler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th minute, Ryan Lawler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josiah Freeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hank Hendrix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute of the match Calvin Askew shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josiah Freeman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Garry Sandoval showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Bailey in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hank Hendrix in the 92nd minute of play forced Phoenixsun's goalkeeper Josiah Freeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Barbour in the 95th minute of play forced Northville Mustangs's goalkeeper Garry Sandoval to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Northville Mustangs played a much better game than Phoenixsun and deserved their victory. The Phoenixsun players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
