Spectators: 8033 (Terracing: 6025, Seating: 1848, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Brian Dent made the kick off which started today's match. Shippensburg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Roscoe Slaughter scored to the left of an out of position Dale Hollis, making the score, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Phoenixsun's Roscoe Slaughter slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dale Hollis. That made the score 2-0 after 8 minutes of play. James Baileys short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Dale Hollis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Roscoe Slaughter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ted Colby might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josiah Freeman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Colby ran back to his position shaking his head. Byron Finch charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Byron Finch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 minutes, Byron Church mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenixsun and the Shippensburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Napoleon Schroeder took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Josiah Freeman. Phoenixsun's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 39th minute, Nicholas Bonilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Napoleon Schroeder shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josiah Freeman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th match minute, Phoenixsun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Young Buck to maneuver through the defense. When Brian Dent came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Shippensburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Dent couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roscoe Slaughter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Phoenixsun getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Nicholas Bonilla hit a great ball. Darrell Wagner hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ted Colby got free with Josiah Freeman in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the match, Phoenixsun's goalkeeper Josiah Freeman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ted Colby. 59 minutes into the match, Phoenixsun's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Dent came free, but Josiah Freeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dale Hollis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Bailey in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by James Bailey in the 72nd minute of play forced Shippensburg's goalkeeper Dale Hollis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ted Colby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josiah Freeman having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thaddeus Landreth during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Shippensburg booed when Phoenixsun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thaddeus Landreth didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute James Bailey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Hollis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Ted Colby notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Phoenixsun's Josiah Freeman. Josiah Freeman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 92 played minutes Brian Dent rounded Phoenixsun's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2.
