If Simon Pate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Burgess made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hank Hendrix in the 19th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Northville Mustangs's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Pate came free, but Garry Sandoval reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Luis Burke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Garry Sandoval skillfully saved the ball. After 31 minutes of play, Miami Springs's Simon Pate made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Garry Sandoval was left in no man's land by his defense there! But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Pate couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute, Claude Lay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Burgess showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Lawler in the 62nd minute of the match. Claude Lay's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Garry Sandoval firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 65th minute of the match, Claude Lay got a very nice opportunity to score, but Garry Sandoval was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ryan Lawler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tomas Burgess tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Douglas Dawkins fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miami Springs's protests and gave Douglas Dawkins a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes Miami Springs got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Dawkins. During the 89th minute of the match Douglas Dawkins completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Douglas Dawkins a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Tomas Burgess took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Worley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Pate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
