Spectators: 8099 (Terracing: 6076, Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 161) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Yong Babcock kicked off to start the match. Carlos Sorenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calvin Yarbrough in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Key West FC's zone, Yong Babcock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Montenegro came out of the goal and Yong Babcock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 9 minutes on the clock, Maarten Vissenaeken commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Key West FC's Maarten Vissenaeken got a free kick in the 10th minute. After having played for 11 minutes, Nicholas Doud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Bern FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicholas Doud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute Calvin Yarbrough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Sorenson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes New Bern FC got a freekick which was hit by Ari Traylor. Carlos Sorenson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reuben Sims in the 36th minute of the match. When New Bern FC's Yong Babcock in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Key West FC's goalie prevented a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Calvin Yarbrough recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Sorenson. Calvin Yarbrough showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Key West FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Bradly Owen hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Yong Babcock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudinei Montenegro was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Yong Babcock hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Carlos Sorenson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calvin Yarbrough, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Carlos Sorenson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Sims, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ali Leonard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Sorenson came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Key West FC's Calvin Yarbrough. But to his dismay, Calvin Yarbrough quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to New Bern FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Bobby Clay hit a great ball. Reuben Sims fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Sorenson having to interfere. Key West FC's Claudinei Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Key West FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, New Bern FC's Bobby Clay got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the referee ended the match the Key West FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
