Leland Akins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terrell Cates in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdul Delgado got free with Leland Akins in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Odell Gagne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jesse Nava's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jason Stout during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 91st minute Abdul Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leland Akins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Big Flats Airport AFC's Jaime Brandt got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Jaime Brandt off the ground. Big Flats Airport AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Gladstone for a fine match.
