Gerald Peoples fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Montenegro having to interfere. Anthony Gifford kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Gladstone's Leland Akins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Gladstone from getting a goal against them. Calvin Yarbrough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Leland Akins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinei Montenegro came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Gladstone's Gerald Peoples. But to his dismay, Gerald Peoples quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jasper Landrum struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Leland Akins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Key West FC. The supporters of Key West FC booed when Gladstone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyrus Smiley didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Reuben Sims came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Key West FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reuben Sims couldn't finish the play. Calvin Yarbrough could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Leland Akins made a huge save. After 24 minutes Gladstone's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jasper Landrum who took care of the corner kick. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Anthony Gifford took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Leland Akins to make any attempt to save it. Leland Akins stood somewhat misplaced when Calvin Yarbrough came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 33 minute. Jasper Landrum scored 3-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leland Akins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute of the match, Calvin Yarbrough tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leland Akins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Key West FC's Jasper Landrum slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leland Akins. That made the score 4-1 after 44 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Calvin Yarbrough made a kick off. Damien Edmonds's late challenge caught a Key West FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damien Edmonds helped the player get up and apologised. Damien Edmonds kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Calvin Yarbrough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leland Akins was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. If Gerald Peoples had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Mickey Harrell notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Gladstone's Leland Akins. Leland Akins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mickey Harrell hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Key West FC's zone, Gerald Peoples stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Montenegro came out of the goal and Gerald Peoples tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jesse Nava had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Calvin Yarbrough managed to get in a good position for a shot. Key West FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Calvin Yarbrough was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leland Akins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerald Peoples struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Claudinei Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gladstone. Claudinei Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerald Peoples's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Gerald Peoples put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Claudinei Montenegro. With a left leg Claudinei Montenegro saved Key West FC from getting behind. Jesse Nava sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Key West FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
