In the 11th minute of the match, Zachery Henderson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Sorenson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Roberto Alston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miles Connell, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pierre Bocanegra to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, New Bern FC's Orville Mueller got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Wes Spivey fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FAIR PLAY MZ's protests and gave Wes Spivey a yellow card for diving instead. The New Bern FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented FAIR PLAY MZ from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
