Leland Akins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yong Babcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 minutes of play, New Bern FC's Ali Leonard made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. He walked away shaking his head. After 91 played minutes New Bern FC got a freekick which was hit by Orville Mueller. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesse Nava in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Sorenson prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
