After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Bernabe Alfonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. LEXINGTON F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Bernabe Alfonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Nordkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to LEXINGTON F.C. getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dino Maia hit a great ball. After 18 played minutes LEXINGTON F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Sirius Black. Wally Covington took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yu Hong Feng. LEXINGTON F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jerry Seinfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yu Hong Feng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Erickson in the 22nd minute of play. Bernabe Alfonso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Tom Erickson came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Colorado FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Erickson couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the match, Bernabe Alfonso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of William Nordkvist, 1-0. William Nordkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernabe Alfonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Yu Hong Feng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wally Covington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 45 minutes, Jonah Darling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colorado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonah Darling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wally Covington to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, LEXINGTON F.C.'s Telmo Bomba got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute Wally Covington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yu Hong Feng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Dino Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the game, Colorado FC's Wally Covington nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yu Hong Feng made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 62nd minute, Sirius Black hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Rosenthal in the 66th minute of play forced LEXINGTON F.C.'s goalkeeper Yu Hong Feng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Telmo Bomba kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Dino Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. William Nordkvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, Colorado FC's Tom Erickson got a free kick in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the Colorado FC defense, Jamar Gill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Nordkvist. The Colorado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Nordkvist should have stopped the shot. Dino Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Nordkvist having to interfere. Colorado FC's William Nordkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernabe Alfonso in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of Colorado FC booed when LEXINGTON F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamar Gill didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the LEXINGTON F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
