Peter Björnberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Kentucky Mustangs's goalkeeper Stanford Peters had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter Björnberg. Bombai Bombis took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Montenegro. Ruy Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Peter Björnberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stanford Peters came out and tried to block the shot, but Peter Björnberg slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Alaska Anchorage FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bombai Bombis came free, but Ruy Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Kentucky Mustangs getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Barry Curry hit a great ball. Stanford Peters made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Peter Björnberg sent off a good shot on target. Peter Björnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Stanford Peters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alaska Anchorage FC's Peter Björnberg in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kentucky Mustangs's goalie prevented a goal. Ludomil Penczkowski was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jack Agnes was the one to do the kick off. Bombai Bombis scored 2-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruy Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bombai Bombis might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bombai Bombis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute of the match, Bombai Bombis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ruy Montenegro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Ruy Montenegro managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Kentucky Mustangs's Jack Agnes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 67th minute, Kentucky Mustangs's M. Ramdhan Rombot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ruy Montenegro. Ruy Montenegro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. After 75 played minutes Alaska Anchorage FC got a freekick which was hit by Hernando Casado. Hernando Casado kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Björnberg in the 82nd minute of play forced Kentucky Mustangs's goalkeeper Stanford Peters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aleksander Hodyl kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Serafin Harriet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Kentucky Mustangs supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kentucky Mustangs would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
