Key Biscayne FC's Lonnie Hurley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualterio Aguirre in the 9th minute of play. The Atletico Patoruzu fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Atletico Patoruzu's Gualterio Aguirre looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th minute, Georges Collard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lonnie Hurley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Latorre, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute, Key Biscayne FC's Korey Reed ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aldo Hawk. Aldo Hawk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Aguirre in the 30th minute of play forced Key Biscayne FC's goalkeeper Lonnie Hurley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Diego Latorre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lonnie Hurley was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 37 minutes into the match, Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper Aldo Hawk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Georges Collard. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualterio Aguirre in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lonnie Hurley saved Key Biscayne FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Key Biscayne FC's Deon Savage got a free kick in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gualterio Aguirre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Patoruzu's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualterio Aguirre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lonnie Hurley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Harman in the 44th minute of play forced Key Biscayne FC's goalkeeper Lonnie Hurley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualterio Aguirre took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lonnie Hurley. Lonnie Hurley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gualterio Aguirre to make the kick off. A hard shot 56 in the game by Gualterio Aguirre from a close distance when the talented Lonnie Hurley managed to make a qualified save. Key Biscayne FC's players were relieved. Ali Hogue's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Hawk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
