Cosmos Soccer Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Angeles norteños the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Rush to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg got control of the ball when Eusebio Vilter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jarrett Rosenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Isaac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dirk Vick's late challenge caught a Cosmos Soccer Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dirk Vick helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Dirk Vick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
