Winfred Deering hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in White Sands's zone, Graig Hadley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. DeAndre Palacios came out of the goal and Graig Hadley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of White Sands booed when Saks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graig Hadley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Saks defense, Logan Vogel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dexter Stark. The Saks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dexter Stark should have stopped the shot. After having played for 30 minutes, Esteban Ziegler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteban Ziegler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 played minutes Saks got a freekick which was hit by Mohammad Beltran. 35 minutes into the game, Brady Manning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave White Sands the free kick. With his leg DeAndre Palacios managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Saks's Brady Manning fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
