Mendenhall Park
Spectators: 8372 (Terracing: 6322,
Seating: 1886, VIP seats: 164) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marlon Koenig started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Pascal Frost ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Oberle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Bradly Leach notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mendenhall FC's Ivan Oberle. Ivan Oberle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mendenhall FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute there was a penalty for THe Last Indian. Emanuel Shipley stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ivan Oberle. 0-3. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mendenhall FC's goalkeeper Ivan Oberle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivan Oberle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradly Leach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, THe Last Indian's Cory Ivey got a free kick in the 27th minute. Tanner Holman kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Markus Hess blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rufus Phipps having to make a save. Bradly Leach struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Ivan Oberle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for THe Last Indian. Ivan Oberle came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by THe Last Indian's Ronny Coyle. But to his dismay, Ronny Coyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 42nd minute Ronny Coyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Oberle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradly Leach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Ivan Oberle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bradly Leach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mendenhall FC's Damon Branch got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute of the match Zenon Naskrent shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Oberle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Ivan Oberle successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Pascal Frost came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the THe Last Indian fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Frost couldn't finish the play. THe Last Indian's Armando Hustaz was substituted for Emanuel Shipley. Bradly Leach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ivan Oberle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 played minutes Mendenhall FC got a freekick which was hit by Bret Nickerson. THe Last Indian's Chris Brannon was substituted for Tanner Holman. In the 70th minute, Bret Nickerson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pascal Frost scored 0-5 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Oberle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mendenhall FC's Claudio Fitzpatrick was substituted for Kerry Middleton. Armando Hustaz struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ivan Oberle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for THe Last Indian. Armando Hustaz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Bartolo Mark got a throw-in 82 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ronny Coyle. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mendenhall FC's goalkeeper Ivan Oberle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bradly Leach might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Oberle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bradly Leach ran back to his position shaking his head. If Bradly Leach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. THe Last Indian played a much better game than Mendenhall FC and deserved their victory. The Mendenhall FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
