Brice Copeland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umur Torhan in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute Huestes de Excalibur were awarded a corner. Rory Wagner went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Huestes de Excalibur's Charlie Jansson to fire away a dangerous shot which Brice Copeland despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Brice Copeland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tonček Kraljič, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Houston Fire F.C.'s Brice Copeland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tonček Kraljič in the 45th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Blaine Griggs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Houston Fire F.C. and the Huestes de Excalibur players grew even worse after the yellow card. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when A.J. Hanks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match was over Huestes de Excalibur could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Houston Fire F.C. throughout the match.
