Darin Gustafson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Fletcher Huffman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anton Hood during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rebel Squids booed when Grimes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Hood didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fletcher Huffman made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Darin Gustafson sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Leonardo Walls left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rebel Squids fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Jed Gilmore came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Grimes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jed Gilmore couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Grimes FC's goalkeeper Fletcher Huffman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darin Gustafson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brent Sellers got free with Fletcher Huffman in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Walls in the 44th minute of play forced Grimes FC's goalkeeper Fletcher Huffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fletcher Huffman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vern Bowles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Grimes FC from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jed Gilmore to strike the kick off in the second half. When Brent Sellers came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Rebel Squids fans jumped to their feet. In the 56th minute, Brent Sellers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rebel Squids fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 59th minute Vern Bowles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fletcher Huffman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fletcher Huffman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darin Gustafson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vern Bowles took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 65 minutes into the match, Brent Sellers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fletcher Huffman. Grimes FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brent Sellers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Fletcher Huffman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darin Gustafson in the 68th minute of play. Jacques Wade's late challenge caught a Rebel Squids's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacques Wade helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Grimes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Wade to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Grimes FC booed when Rebel Squids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Hartman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darin Gustafson took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. The supporters of Rebel Squids booed when Grimes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lloyd Loyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Leonardo Walls left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rebel Squids fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Vern Bowles struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Fletcher Huffman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rebel Squids. If Darin Gustafson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Grimes FC defense, Brent Sellers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fletcher Huffman. The Grimes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fletcher Huffman should have stopped the shot. Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vern Bowles in the 94th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rebel Squids fully deserved thier win.
