When Joesph Walters fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored empanadas's protests and gave Joesph Walters a yellow card for diving instead. Joesph Walters kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Boleslaw Labus made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Chivas USA defense, Royce Bachman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dursun Ali Arısal. The Chivas USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dursun Ali Arısal should have stopped the shot. empanadas's Boleslaw Labus got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Leguizamón in the 64th minute of play forced empanadas's goalkeeper Humberto Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes of play, empanadas's Boleslaw Labus made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
