Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Darin McAlpin started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes of play, empanadas's Lazaro Connor made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Ervin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joesph Walters hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Nick Ervin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lazaro Connor went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 19th minute Boleslaw Labus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick Ervin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Ervin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boleslaw Labus, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Lazaro Connor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Boleslaw Labus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. empanadas's Humberto Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darin McAlpin in the 28th minute of play. Boleslaw Labus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nick Ervin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lazaro Connor in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute Lazaro Connor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick Ervin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes of play, empanadas's Boleslaw Labus made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Ervin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lazaro Connor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boleslaw Labus was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Lazaro Connor from a close distance when the talented Nick Ervin managed to make a qualified save. Soldotna's players were relieved. In the 53rd minute of the match empanadas got a corner. Soldotna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Royce Bachman ran over to the corner to take the kick. Royce Bachman made a great header on empanadas's corner, it was just that Soldotna's Nick Ervin managed to reach the ball for a save. 54 minutes into the game, Lazaro Connor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nick Ervin. Lazaro Connor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Lazaro Connor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Soldotna's zone, Lazaro Connor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nick Ervin came out of the goal and Lazaro Connor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nick Ervin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lazaro Connor's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Soldotna's Nick Ervin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Soldotna from getting a goal against them. Lazaro Connor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Nick Ervin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rudolf Bean's late challenge caught a empanadas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolf Bean helped the player get up and apologised. 69 minutes into the match, empanadas's goal looked a bit too open when Darin McAlpin came free, but Humberto Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nick Ervin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boleslaw Labus in the 70th minute. Nick Ervin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lazaro Connor, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With his leg Nick Ervin managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when empanadas's Boleslaw Labus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 74 minutes into the match, Soldotna's goal looked a bit too open when Lazaro Connor came free, but Nick Ervin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boleslaw Labus took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nick Ervin. Nick Ervin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind empanadas's goalkeeper Humberto Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nick Ervin was a little too slow when Lazaro Connor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-7. empanadas's Boleslaw Labus got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lazaro Connor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
