Cesar Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Leguizamón in the 2nd minute of play. If Teo Leguizamón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute Igor Skwira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Igor Skwira came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Chivas USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Skwira couldn't finish the play. When Costică Aristide came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Kuqezi fans jumped to their feet. In the 11th minute Lane Key shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dursun Ali Arısal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 minutes Chivas USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luciano Sito who took care of the corner kick. 18 minutes into the game, Teo Leguizamón was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chivas USA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kuqezi the free kick. Chivas USA made a substitution. Graig Knight replaced Teo Leguizamón. In the 19th match minute, Chivas USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teo Leguizamón to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, Kuqezi's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Charro came free, but Cesar Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesar Jacobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro De Gracia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lane Key recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Charro during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chivas USA's Juan Charro got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 30th minute, Juan Charro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Bailey House took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dursun Ali Arısal to make any attempt to save it. Graig Knight received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Cesar Jacobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute Igor Skwira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chivas USA's Dursun Ali Arısal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Chivas USA from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Costică Aristide to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Chivas USA booed when Kuqezi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bailey House didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Kuqezi's Cesar Jacobson got control of the ball when Igor Skwira tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Kuqezi's Scot McNair sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dursun Ali Arısal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lane Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 69 played minutes Kuqezi got a freekick which was hit by Marvin Dubose. When Marvin Dubose fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kuqezi's protests and gave Marvin Dubose a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Kuqezi's Marvin Dubose got a free kick in the 71st minute. Cesar Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Björn-Torben Buß in the 72nd minute of play. Cesar Jacobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro De Gracia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luciano Sito kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Kuqezi's Costică Aristide got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Igor Skwira made a precise shot to the right of Cesar Jacobson. Kuqezi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.
