Len McAllister struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Rafael Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfield FI. The supporters of Banfield FI booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Alvarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Rafael Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Quinton Rivers came free, but Rafael Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Quinton Rivers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Valle came out of the goal and Quinton Rivers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Valle made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Quinton Rivers sent off a good shot on target. Rafael Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stan Craft in the 17th minute. Markus Bachman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Shipp, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quinton Rivers got free with Rafael Valle in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute Stan Craft shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Valle made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Quinton Rivers sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Maurício Roriz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rafael Valle came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Banfield FI's Len McAllister. But to his dismay, Len McAllister quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Danial Vega scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Markus Bachman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. USA were furious when Walton Blount was red carded, 49 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 48th minute of the game. One of USA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Banfield FI:s goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Quinton Rivers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 60 minutes of play, Banfield FI's Stan Craft made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leon Ledochowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Quinton Rivers went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The Banfield FI fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Banfield FI's Quinton Rivers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 75th minute, Darren Shipp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Quinton Rivers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Stan Craft had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafael Valle. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stan Craft was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-1. Rafael Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Ledochowski in the 87th minute of the match. USA's Rafael Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthew Dotson in the 92nd minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, Banfield FI's Leon Ledochowski made it 10-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Banfield FI had played much better football throughout.
