In the 2nd minute, Jason Stuart left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jason Stuart might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jason Stuart ran back to his position shaking his head. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Boca Juniors's Cyryl Karpinski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 11 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Cyryl Karpinski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Rafael Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cyryl Karpinski's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Cyryl Karpinski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Rafael Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Danial Vega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Rollins came out of the goal and Danial Vega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Darnell didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernie Dixon in the 25th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Rafael Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyryl Karpinski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of USA booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shelby Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernie Dixon scored 0-5 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rafael Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Roman Rollins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danial Vega, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Danial Vega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Rollins came out of the goal and Danial Vega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Scott Blue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rich Jean took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafael Valle. USA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Tony Dewitt got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half Boca Juniors were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernie Dixon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 52 in the game by Cyryl Karpinski from a close distance when the talented Rafael Valle managed to make a qualified save. USA's players were relieved. Cyryl Karpinski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Rafael Valle skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Roman Rollins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Danial Vega went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Jose Irizarry charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Irizarry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute Ernie Dixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernie Dixon in the 63rd minute of the match. Phillip Dobbins hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. USA were furious when Federico Darnell was red carded, 66 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 67 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Federico Darnell. Boca Juniors made a substitution. J.C. Ogden replaced Ernie Dixon. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Federico Darnell hit a great ball. Cyryl Karpinski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Valle having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Cyryl Karpinski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77thth minute of the game J.C. Ogden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Rafael Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling J.C. Ogden in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cyryl Karpinski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Rafael Valle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cyryl Karpinski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Valle having to make a save. When Boca Juniors's J.C. Ogden in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USA's goalie prevented a goal. Rafael Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jason Stuart in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Boca Juniors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than USA.
