After 17 played minutes, Black Sails FC's Terence Thurston shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucrețiu Gherase came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Black Sails FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Preston Ferreira in the 18th minute of play forced Black Sails FC's goalkeeper Craig Velazquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Lake Mohawk FC booed when Black Sails FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Hill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Craig Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Preston Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Wilson Gold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Craig Velazquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Craig Velazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Preston Ferreira in the 26th minute of play. Craig Velazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Preston Ferreira in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Preston Ferreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Craig Velazquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Lucrețiu Gherase was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eric Fisher showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Black Sails FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Gold came free, but Craig Velazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Davis Mabry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Craig Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Wilson Gold came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Lake Mohawk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Gold couldn't finish the play. Lance Vann hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Dan Feliciano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Craig Velazquez made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Lake Mohawk FC's Wilson Gold slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Craig Velazquez. That made the score 1-3 after 54 minutes of play. 64 minutes into the match, Wilson Gold had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Craig Velazquez. Black Sails FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilson Gold was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Craig Velazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Preston Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th match minute, Black Sails FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Burns to maneuver through the defense. After 72 minutes Black Sails FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dan Feliciano who took care of the corner kick. Craig Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Craig Velazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Preston Ferreira in the 78th minute of play. Craig Velazquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dan Feliciano in the 81st minute. Craig Velazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Gold, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Craig Velazquez was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Dan Feliciano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dan Feliciano really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. Lake Mohawk FC played a much better game than Black Sails FC and deserved their victory. The Black Sails FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
