Phyperstars FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tracy Landry in the 6th minute. In the 11th minute of the match, Ron McElroy tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but J.C. Barker saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 12th minute, Reinaldo Jordan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match, Mitch Dunn got a very nice opportunity to score, but J.C. Barker was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 21 minutes into the match, Wellford AFC's goalkeeper J.C. Barker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anton Moses. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wellford AFC's goalkeeper J.C. Barker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Wellford AFC's J.C. Barker got control of the ball when Mitch Dunn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mitch Dunn in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck J.C. Barker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Shayne Garland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Moses received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. J.C. Barker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marty Bassett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Shayne Garland made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitch Dunn in the 52nd minute of play forced Wellford AFC's goalkeeper J.C. Barker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd match minute, Phyperstars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Del Altman to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitch Dunn in the 56th minute of play forced Wellford AFC's goalkeeper J.C. Barker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shayne Garland got free with Russell Lund in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mitch Dunn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Ron McElroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 minutes, Mitch Dunn made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Wellford AFC's J.C. Barker tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ron McElroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wellford AFC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Tomas McGrath hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Wellford AFC's Winston Moser got a free kick in the 88th minute. Tracy Landry took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for J.C. Barker. Wellford AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Wellford AFC booed when Phyperstars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Woodrow Ricks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellford AFC's Shayne Garland got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Phyperstars FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Del Altman hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Phyperstars FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Wellford AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
