The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Lefler in the 4th minute of play. Hal Mackey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen Lefler, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. A collision led to New Iberia AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Roy Garrison hit a great ball. Hal Mackey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Lefler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colby Saucedo kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, New Iberia AFC's Carlo Salazar got a free kick in the 19th minute. Eduardo Remicio came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Western Springs FC's Emmanuel Corley. But to his dismay, Emmanuel Corley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in New Iberia AFC's zone, Emmanuel Corley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Remicio came out of the goal and Emmanuel Corley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the last second Eduardo Remicio throw himself and got hold of the ball when Kerry McDonald in the 24thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. A collision led to New Iberia AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Glen Lefler hit a great ball. New Iberia AFC's Eduardo Remicio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry McDonald in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute Western Springs FC were awarded a corner. Emmanuel Corley went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Emmanuel Corley got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eduardo Remicio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience cheered when Emmanuel Corley's long shot passed Eduardo Remicio's right side. It was 2-0, 29 minutes into the match. Bruno Oskitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. Glen Lefler kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Kerry McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Remicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Oskitz came free, but Hal Mackey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, New Iberia AFC's Eduardo Remicio got control of the ball when Emmanuel Corley tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glen Lefler to strike the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Remicio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, New Iberia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Salazar to maneuver through the defense. Jesus Bocanegra's late challenge caught a New Iberia AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Western Springs FC's zone, Bruno Oskitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hal Mackey came out of the goal and Bruno Oskitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, New Iberia AFC's Máximo Coimbra got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Western Springs FC's Emmanuel Corley got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hal Mackey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Garrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Carlo Salazar took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Hal Mackey to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Western Springs FC had won after a very even match.
