In the 16th minute, Jimmy Barnard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Barnard came free, but Hal Mackey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Craig Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Russell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Garry Conn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Craig Velazquez. Black Sails FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garry Conn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some careless play in the Black Sails FC defense, Emmanuel Corley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Craig Velazquez. The Black Sails FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Craig Velazquez should have stopped the shot. In the 33rdth minute of the game Emmanuel Corley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Sails FC's Craig Velazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Emmanuel Corley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Craig Velazquez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emmanuel Corley went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Craig Velazquez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frankie Russell went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. After the first half Western Springs FC were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emmanuel Corley made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kerry McDonald got free with Craig Velazquez in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Craig Velazquez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kerry McDonald went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. The supporters of Black Sails FC booed when Western Springs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cory Lowry didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Conn in the 66th minute of play forced Black Sails FC's goalkeeper Craig Velazquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th match minute, Black Sails FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominique Polk to maneuver through the defense. Craig Velazquez came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Western Springs FC's Kerry McDonald. But to his dismay, Kerry McDonald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. In the 74th minute, Kerry McDonald made a precise shot to the right of Craig Velazquez. Black Sails FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11.
