Nerio Lopez de Toro struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Waldo Helton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ACC Mavericks. Waldo Helton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Van Clynenbreugel in the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute of the match ACC Mavericks got a corner. Flame Throwers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nerio Lopez de Toro ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dillon Galindo in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bob Hyatt saved ACC Mavericks from getting behind. Reinaldo McCormick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Hyatt having to interfere. With a little luck, Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton got control of the ball when Genaro Procopio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Waldo Helton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Van Clynenbreugel in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute ACC Mavericks were awarded a corner. Nerio Lopez de Toro went to the cornerflag to take it. Waldo Helton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldo Helton saved Flame Throwers from getting behind. Bob Hyatt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo McCormick in the 23rd minute of play. Gilberto Posey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Hyatt having to interfere. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Nerio Lopez de Toro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Waldo Helton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The corner led ACC Mavericks's Nerio Lopez de Toro to fire away a dangerous shot which Waldo Helton despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Waldo Helton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 36th minute of the match. Bob Hyatt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Posey, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. ACC Mavericks were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Flame Throwers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nerio Lopez de Toro took the corner. After a rather tough play, Flame Throwers's Dave Paris got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The supporters of ACC Mavericks booed when Flame Throwers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo McCormick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waldo Helton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Genaro Procopio in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nerio Lopez de Toro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob Hyatt made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Reinaldo McCormick sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Van Clynenbreugel in the 56th minute of play forced Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 59th minute of play. ACC Mavericks were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Flame Throwers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nerio Lopez de Toro took the corner. ACC Mavericks's Nerio Lopez de Toro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Waldo Helton in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Flame Throwers's Reinaldo McCormick slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bob Hyatt. That made the score 1-1 after 62 minutes of play. When ACC Mavericks's Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flame Throwers's goalie prevented a goal. After 68 minutes ACC Mavericks's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dave Paris who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Theron Milligan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Flame Throwers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dave Paris in the 71st minute. After taking down the ball on Flame Throwers's corner Dave Paris fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bob Hyatt quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldo Helton saved Flame Throwers from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Benson during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Waldo Helton came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by ACC Mavericks's Steve Van Clynenbreugel. But to his dismay, Steve Van Clynenbreugel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 85th match minute, Flame Throwers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dillon Galindo to maneuver through the defense. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 97 minutes into the match, Genaro Procopio notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton. Waldo Helton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ACC Mavericks fans cheered their team off the field, for while Flame Throwers had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
