The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Flame Throwers getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Dave Paris hit a great ball. Serginho Chulapa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldo Helton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Serginho Chulapa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Waldo Helton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo McCormick in the 9th minute of play forced Evangel FC's goalkeeper Zackary Sampson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Flame Throwers's Ali Frye seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ali Frye the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Flame Throwers protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ali Frye had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flame Throwers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Posey got free with Zackary Sampson in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Flame Throwers booed when Evangel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathon Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Gilberto Posey recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zackary Sampson. Gilberto Posey showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Royce Kay in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Flame Throwers's Darryl Arellano got a free kick in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Chulapa in the 30th minute of play forced Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evangel FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Royce Kay in the 32nd minute. It was a well-played corner which Odell Collier managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Evangel FC's Serginho Chulapa got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Posey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Serginho Chulapa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldo Helton was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Waldo Helton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Chulapa in the 44th minute of play. Waldo Helton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serginho Chulapa went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Serginho Chulapa made the kick off in the second half. When Evangel FC's Serginho Chulapa in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flame Throwers's goalie prevented a goal. 53 minutes into the match, Evangel FC's Serginho Chulapa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldo Helton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho Chulapa in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Evangel FC's Serginho Chulapa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldo Helton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evangel FC's Terrence Perkins was substituted for Serginho Chulapa. Evangel FC's Elliott Fuller managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Brian Hyatt in the 68 minute of the game. Brian Hyatt struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Zackary Sampson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flame Throwers. 72 minutes into the match, Evangel FC's Terrence Perkins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldo Helton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th minute Evangel FC were awarded a corner. Royce Kay went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Flame Throwers's goalie and right to Johnathon Vargas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Flame Throwers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 76 minutes into the match, Terrence Perkins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldo Helton. Flame Throwers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Terrence Perkins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 82 minutes into the match, Flame Throwers's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence Perkins came free, but Waldo Helton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Royce Kay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Terrence Perkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldo Helton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Terrence Perkins ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the match, Flame Throwers's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence Perkins came free, but Waldo Helton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldo Helton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terrence Perkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 played minutes Evangel FC got a freekick which was hit by Royce Kay. In the 92nd match minute, Evangel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Royce Kay to maneuver through the defense. The Flame Throwers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Evangel FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Evangel FC.
